- Complete a 'New Client Set-up' support request; this request includes mandatory fields that the Support Team need completing, in order to set the client up on the case management systems. A completed 'Risk Assessment Form' also needs to be attached to the request, see below.
Please note that new clients (or an existing client who has not previously supplied information) are required to provide 2 forms of ID to meet anti-money laundering guidelines from the following: one item from List A and one item from the List B.
List A:
- Current Passport
- Current full UK Driving Licence
List B:
- A bill for the supply of electricity, gas, water or telephone services (provided it is fewer than three (3) months old). Mobile phone bills are not acceptable.
- Television Licence renewal notice.
- Council Tax bill (provided it is fewer than three (3) months old).
- Recent Tax Coding Notice.
- Recent Mortgage Statement.
- Credit Card/Bank Statement (provided it is fewer than three (3) months old) and shows the current address.
ID can be requested by you or the MBC Support Team.
2. Once the client is set-up you will receive a notification via your MBC Link request, this will include a unique client reference number. Attached to the request will be the client engagement letter for your review. Should amendments need to be made to the draft CEL please amend and re-attach to the support request for issuing. In the event ID has not been provided at this stage, MBC will request this on your behalf.
3. Your engagement letter will be sent out on DocuSign, work cannot progress until the CEL is signed.
Copies of your client’s ID must be scanned to a member of the Support Team. ID documents are required to be certified by you or someone of a professional standing if the Risk Assessment score is above 2. Where a professional body is not available, the client can have their ID certified by the post office. You may also ask that we contact your client to request ID on your behalf.
